Please be aware the road at Gunnislake will be closed from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday from 22nd January until 9th February (subject to weather conditions) following information from Cormac Solutions, if you are travelling to Gunnislake during road closure times, they have advised to allow for an additional 30 minutes to your journey. Gunnislake  surgery will be open as normal but you may be asked to visit Callington surgery depending on any access problems. If you will have any difficulty in ordering or collected your medication during the road closures, please speak to dispensary to discuss alternative options.

Prescription Ordering

A minimum of three clear working days is required to process all repeat prescription requests. ‘Working days’ are classed as Monday to Friday (excluding all Bank Holidays).

So for example, if you would like your medication to be ready on a (non-Bank Holiday) Monday afternoon, you will need to order it on Wednesday morning at the latest.

General Practice Paramedics

Ben Mayhew

Paul Symonds

The Practice has two paramedics, who can see patients for certain ailments and minor illnesses.  They have been spending time with the GPs and other clinicians during clinic time, as well as our admin and dispensary staff, so as to gain a good insight into the various aspects of General Practice.

Their services are extremely helpful and beneficial both to our patients and the Practice.

Prescription Ordering

The way in which prescriptions are ordered online has changed to a much improved system, called ‘SystmOnline’. To use this new service, you will need to register for ‘online services’ with the surgery and you will be provided with a username and password. This new system allows you to book routine appointments with your named GP. To register for online services, you will need to attend your usual Health Centre with photo identification (if you do not have photo ID, you can discuss with a member of staff any alternative options available to you).

We would be grateful if you would use the notes section to remind us if you have any special requirements such as extra medication for holiday, medication to be delivered, etc.

The system will advise you when the prescription should be ready for collection and also allow you to request an order for any medication issued to you in the last 12 months that is not on your repeat list (please note that this request may be sent to your usual GP for approval).

It will notify you if you are ordering your medication too early (please ensure you put the reason why in the notes section) and it will also inform you if you are requesting a repeat item that cannot automatically be issued without approval from your GP (e.g. if you are overdue for a blood test or medication review)

Again, please use the notes section but be advised the GP may not issue the medication. We will advise if that is the case.

If you have any queries about Systmonline, please speak to a member of our reception team.
